I HAVE LIBERTY

I have liberty to think and say.

I am not bound, though subordinate to some rules.

I am free to fly, though restricted.

I have control over my thoughts, though these are not mine.

I have liberty to live, though my life is not mine.

I have liberty to choose, though nothing is mine.

I have liberty to sing, though music and lyrics belong to someone else.

I have liberty to live, though land is not mine.

I have everything to say, though there nothing is mine.

I have liberty to be simple, though I want fashionable.

I have liberty to be modern, though I am conservative.

I have freedom not to bow before anyone, though I bow to God.

I have every kind of liberty, though I have none.

I am liberal in an illiberal world.

This paradox is what makes life charming and colourful.

The Poem is written by Saniya Bashir from Mustafabad, Zainakote, Srinagar. Saniya is a Class 8th student and her hobbies include reading and travelling
