DLSA Pulwama organizes seminar on World Health Day
The Awareness Programme on World Health Day was held in collaboration with Skylark Paramedical Institute Pulwama.
Each year, a theme is selected to highlight a priority area of public health concern in the world. The theme of this year's World Health Day is 'Our Planet Our Health'.
World Health Day is celebrated on April 7 every year to mark the anniversary of the founding of WHO in 1948. The main objective of the programme was to create awareness among the masses and to make individuals aware that health is wealth.
Due to the growing number of diseases and illnesses around the world, the need for the World Health Day was felt.
A new illness pops up every year now and then causing fear among individuals and the latest example of the same is COVID-19 which has caused a huge loss of precious lives throughout the World. A large number of students and PLVs participated in the function.
Similarly, a seminar on World Health Day was organized at Tral, Pampore & Awantipora in collaboration with the Health Department on the topic 'Our Planet our Health'.
At Awantipora, the main programme was organized in Town Hall Awantipora which was attended by Asha workers and PLVs. Advocate Basharat Shaheen was the resource person on this occasion.
Similarly, another programme was organized in Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Tral in collaboration with Sub-District Hospital Tral which was attended by Asha workers, health workers and students of said school. Advocate Abdul Reham was the resource person on this occasion.
Another resource person on this occasion was PLV Rajinder Singh. Students of said school also spoke on this occasion.
