Indian Army's 44 RR conducts fun games in Tangwani village
SRINAGAR: Indian Army's 44 RR unit conducted an event for children wherein fun games were organized in Tangwani village of southern Kashmir's Shopian district.
"Reaching out to a popular demand of local children, fun games including Tug of War, Musical Chair, Catch Me If You Can, Jumping Rope etc were organised by Ahgam COB at New Radiant School, Tangwani," a statement from the Army said.
It added, "Approximately, 40 school children enthusiastically participated and enjoyed the event."
"The effort was not only enjoyed by the children but was also deeply appreciated by the teachers and parents alike who requested to conduct more such events in future," is said.
The statement said that these fun games work towards constructively engaging the youths, who are the pillar of society. "It's extremely important to align these budding minds with mainstream. The event also led towards promoting harmony and togetherness," it said.
"During the event, local youths were also made aware about the various career options available in sports and its added advantages while taking admissions in good colleges or while seeking jobs," the statement said, adding, "As Winter sets in, its important to put more emphasis on physical fitness. So, encouraging them to participate in outdoor games will help in improving their physical fitness."
