Public meeting held at Aripal Tral
PULWAMA: For better coordination between general public and Police as well as to strengthen Police-Public relationship, today a Police-Public meet was held at Police Post Aripal with due care of maintaining social distancing norms and other protocols of COVID-19.
The meeting was chaired by SSP Awantipora Shri Tahir Saleem – JKPS accompanied by Ajaz Malik - SDPO Tral, SHO Tral and I/Post Aripal in which respectable people of Aripal and Tral area including various local Imams, religious leaders, Awqaf members, traders, numbardars and chowkidars participated.
The participants highlighted various issues including the problems of drug abuse, electricity issues, ATM facility at Aripal, fire & emergency facility at Aripal, transport facility to far flung areas, exorbitant fare charged by transporters to the passengers and other important problems faced by the general public which were heard patiently by SSP Awantipora and promised its redressed in time bound manner by involving the concern departments and giving feedback reports also to the person who raise the issue during meeting.
During interaction, SSP Awantipora expressed that they should take care of their wards especially young teens and should check their cell phones etc so as to keep them away from wrongdoing/ negative forces, also expressed that phone numbers of police officers are available 24 hours and can make call any time with regard to any social crime in their respective areas, also seek cooperation in maintaining peace in the area.
The participants appreciated the Awantipora Police for drive against drug peddlers and cultivators. They also hailed the police for conducting public contact programmes and assured their full support & cooperation in curbing the menace of social crimes and in maintaining law & order.
SSP Awantipora further said that police will take very strong action against the drug peddlers, its cultivators and other people involved in drug peddling.
