IDA Kashmir Central Branch holds elections in Srinagar
Srinagar: The Indian Dental Association (IDA) Kashmir Central Branch on Wednesday conducted elections of its office bearers following a general body meeting at hotel Jahangir in Srinagar.
Despite inclement weather, hundreds of dental surgeons participated in the election process and exercised their voting rights to elect their candidates.
After polling was over, the counting of the votes was carried out by the election officials of the IDA Kashmir Central Branch.
After counting of votes, the election officials of the IDA Kashmir declared Dr Zahid Safder as winner for the post president, Dr Adil Malik as Secretary and also announced result of other office bearers of the IDA Kashmir branch.
Before the elections were held, the general body members of IDA Kashmir Central Branch sought suggestions from the participants for welfare of the dentist fraternity.
"It was a heartening to see large gathering of dentists attended the meeting and took part in subsequent elections for the upliftment of dental fraternity. Everyone present in the interaction pledged to work sincerely for the betterment of fraternity," said a spokesperson of IDA Kashmir Central Branch.
Soon after being elected as Secretary IDA Kashmir Central Branch, Dr Adil Malik addressed the participants and emphasised on the core issues pertaining to Dental fraternity.
Malik urged government to expedite the process of creation of Dental Surgeon posts, refresher courses for in-service candidates, filling up of post of deputy director dentistry which is vacant since last two years.
