Jammu: Designer Shahid Rashid Bhat showcased his 'Dastoor' Collection during the recently conducted Jammu Fashion Week.
"Dastoor collection reconnected the emotions of all the persons from both Jammu and Kashmir," says the young designer from south Kashmir's Pulwama.
Speaking on the phone to Kashmir Snaps, Shahid said, "Many cultures around the world have traditional costumes that go back thousands of years. Being a fashion designer, I am frequently inspired by and proud of this heritage. So, I also want to modernize and reinvent traditional attires of Valley with the intricate craftsmanship of Kashmir and bespoke tailoring of the world. Dastoor Collection is an endeavour in this very direction."
'Dastoor' collection for which Shahid has set the tagline as "Let's Get Back To The Traditional Roots of Kashmir" was showcased at the first ever Jammu Fashion Week.
The event was conducted from 30th of November to 1st of December at KC Emporia, Jammu. Renowned names in the fashion industry participated in the fashion week.
The event focused on promoting fashion tourism in the state and to make an effort to put State on global fashion world. It was conceptualized to give platform to young and innovative designers in the state.
JFW happened in collaboration with Phytomo Clinical and United Colors of Benetton.
