JKLF protests at Lal Chowk aganist US decision of declaring Salahuddin as a “global terrorist”
Srinagar: "Clubbing Kashmiri struggle for freedom with terrorism is unjustified and unacceptable. Our struggle for freedom is a legitimate struggle that is being crushed by India illegally and undemocratically. Fresh wave of arrests in Kashmir is highly condemnable." This was stated by the chairman of Jammu Kashmir liberation front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik in a press statement issued today.
Meanwhile on united resistance leadership call, JKLF leaders and activists staged a peaceful protest against the United States’ decision declaring Syed Salahuddin as a “global terrorist” and fresh wave of arrests in Kashmir.
"Kashmiris are fighting for a just and democratic cause. Our struggle is a democratic struggle which in all purposes is in accordance with international laws, UN charter and resolutions and acknowledged by all international covenants and forums. Therefore clubbing this legitimated struggle with terrorism is totally unjustified and unacceptable." This was stated by the chairman of Jammu Kashmir liberation front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik in a press statement issued today.
While condemning the fresh wave of “arbitrary crackdowns on resistance camp, resistance activists and youth in general by the occupational authorities and agencies, JKLF chairman said that every little space on peaceful political activities has been choked by India and its stooges under the garb of maintaining peace but international community safeguarding its economic interests with India is maintaining criminal silence and hence legitimizing this state sponsored terrorism.
On the US decision of declaring Syed Slah ud din as a “global terrorist”, JKLF chairman said that “US and the rest of international community is well aware that for the past 70 years, the people of J&K are engaged in a long and peaceful struggle for achieving their basic human and political right— the right to freedom and right to self-determination. This right is guaranteed by the United Nations charter and resolutions, but ruthlessly resisted and suppressed by the Indian State through use of extreme force”.
He said that: “Instead of condemning the ongoing oppression on the people of Jammu Kashmir and acknowledging the legitimacy of Kashmiri struggle’s for freedom, the US government has strangely chosen to club our freedom struggle with terrorism which is most unfortunate.
